Career Planning & Job Search – Complete review and assessment of current career history and optimal plan for your next “gig”. Whether you are looking to leverage your current employment situation or start a new career search, there are a few basics that anyone needs in order to be successful. If you are in a position to start a job search because you were just given the “old pink slip”, we can put a fast-start plan in place to get you ready.
Talent Management - Looking at the talent you have now and the talent you’ll need to either make in a down economy or grow your business is complex. We can start with a full talent assessment that will give you an objective perspective on what you have and what you need. Once you know the answer to that, we can design a plan to move you from today into tomorrow. It’s also a good time to evaluate whether your current talent pool needs a little re-tooling either as individuals or as team.
Presentation Skills – You’ve heard the old adage that what you say is often not as important as how you say it. Well, what you say is important and I can help you with that too, but how you deliver your important message, whether it’s to a colleague or boss, to a room full of constituents or stakeholders, or at your best friend’s wedding, I can help! If you fumble with notes, hang on for dear life to a podium or get lost in the sea of PowerPoint slides you’ve developed, I can cure you of these terrible woes and turn you into the speaking guru you’ve always admired.
Succession Planning – Are you about to retire or move on to start yet another successful company? What’s your plan to fill your role and all those roles that open up as a result? While this is still about talent management it much, much more. Identifying the future leaders of your legacy is no small task and I can help you examine the internal and external market to support your goals. Often a leader is right under your nose and you only need find a way to enable that person to unleash their latent talents.
Resume Development – This goes hand-in-hand with your career search. Even with technology today, everyone still needs a well written, relevant and concise resume. While it’s no longer a “ticket to the dance” it is still the backbone of any first impression you will make, unless you’re making that first impression in person. Even then, if your in person impression is smashing, but your follow-up resume isn’t, you probably won’t get much further. In addition, a well written resume can also be repurposed for things like professional bios, online profiles such as Linkedin, and should be the starting place for completing a thorough job application, be it online or not…why re-type all of that great information.
Business Plan Development – With the use of a very brief questionnaire I am able to gain enough information to provide you with a thorough business plan that you can use immediately. While I don’t furnish financial models for a business, my business plan can be used by your financial advisors to fully understand your operating model, sales strategy and marketing plan. This is a fully customized document and it can be as brief or as elaborate as you desire.
Communication Skills - Using the communication methodology we can work on an individual or team level to inventory, assess and understand the communication styles that you have available to leverage for success. This process also helps to identify what deficiencies you may have as you look at your team as a whole. Communication styles once identified are only part of the equation. This process is a jumping off place to support a well designed and well lead team. If based on this assessment there is a need for more individual coaching, that is something I can provide as well.
Team Roles & Development – Somewhat based on the communication styles assessment, team attributes and team roles are established using self-reported team building inventory. Once established, this too is a jumping off point for cultivating and developing a plan to leverage the team that already exists and establishes which “temporary” team member you need to add in order to be productive and successful.
Executive Coaching – This is very customized and personalized service. We would meet a number of times to determine what persistent obstacles keep you from being as successful as you’d like to be. We would then design a very specific plan to progress towards your ultimate goal. This might be that promotion you were passed up for last time around, this might be a nagging interpersonal issue you are experiencing with a colleague, this might simply be capitalizing on your talents and better aligning your own professional expectations or exploring new unexamined options.
Leadership Development – This can be customized and scalable but the premise of the program is based on the key attributes found in successful leaders. We can build a program that is targeted for individual or teams. The goal would be to assess the natural leadership talents that already exist and design a growth strategy that meets the specific needs of an individual or individuals, but based contextually on the company or organizational vision you are or plan to be a part of going forward. This can also take the form of one-on-one coaching as part of a long-term leadership development strategy.
